FOI Specialist - Scotland - 3 months - #2100768

Are you an experienced Freedom of Information (FOI) and Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) professional with a passion for transparency, accountability and good governance?

We're looking for a skilled FOI specialist to manage complex requests from receipt to closure, providing expert advice on disclosure, exemptions, public interest tests, redaction and internal reviews. You'll work across the organisation to gather information, assess risk, meet statutory deadlines and deliver clear, defensible responses.

What we're looking for:

• Proven FOI/EIR case management experience
• Strong knowledge of FOI, EIR, UK GDPR and Data Protection requirements
• Excellent written communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience handling sensitive, complex or high-profile requests
• Strong judgement, organisation and attention to detail
• Background in a public sector, regulated or utility environment desirable

Bonus points for experience with: Scottish public authorities, the Scottish Information Commissioner, SharePoint/M365, FOI case management systems, and utilities or environmental sectors.
