Maintenance Electrician - #2112324

Looking for a maintenance electrician to join the facilities maintenance team in Glasgow.

Location: Stobhill Hospital, G21 3UW

Hours: 8 AM to 4.30 PM

Salary: £23/hour PAYE (£47,840)

Job type: TEMP to PERM

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across systems including generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms, AHUs, water systems, medical gas, and pressure systems
• Respond to breakdowns within SLA timescales to avoid penalties and service failures
• Produce Risk Assessments and Method Statements to support Permits-to-Work
• Complete work sheets, test certificates, and task assessments (electronic and paper)
• Train towards and undertake Appointed Person (AP) roles - Electrical and Low Voltage
• Participate in an on-call rota for 24/7 cover
• Work overtime as needed for installations, improvements, and emergency repairs
• Travel to other sites on an ad-hoc basis as required
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and contractors; maintain tools/workshop areas
• Comply with all safety, infection control, and hazardous substance guidelines

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Essential:

• Completed recognised electrical apprenticeship
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar electrical maintenance role
• Competent to work on relevant building service systems and equipment
• Familiar with the systems/equipment involved in the role
• Sound technical knowledge to work safely and avoid hazards

Desirable:

• Hospital/healthcare maintenance experience
• Knowledge of Scottish Health Technical Memoranda (SHTM), including SHTM 06-01
• Familiarity with Permit to Work procedures, BSRIA guidance, L8 (Legionella), and Pressure Systems Regulations 2000
• Current first aid/CPR training (training provided if not already held)
