Technical Lead / Software Development Manager – Full-time, Permanent

Location: East Kilbride, Scotland (hybrid working)

Salary: Up to £80,000 per annum DOE + Benefits

What the Technical Lead / Software Development Manager Will Do:

This Technical Lead role combines software engineering with technical leadership. You'll work closely with developers, Product, QA and DevOps to deliver high-quality software while helping the wider team grow.

You'll be responsible for:

• Leading the design and development of scalable cloud-native software solutions
• Influencing architecture, engineering standards and technical decision-making
• Mentoring developers and supporting their technical and professional development
• Championing code quality, security, testing, resilience and continuous improvement
• Collaborating across Engineering, Product and QA to deliver complex software solutions
• Helping shape the future direction of the engineering function as the business continues to evolve

What You’ll Bring:

We're looking for an experienced Technical Lead, Lead Software Engineer or Senior Full Stack Developer who enjoys solving complex technical problems while helping others succeed through strategic and supportive leadership.

You'll ideally have:

• Strong commercial experience developing software with Java, JavaScript and/or TypeScript
• Experience building modern web applications using React, Next.js and cloud-native architectures
• A good understanding of AWS, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD and modern engineering practices
• Experience designing secure, scalable and resilient enterprise software solutions
• Previous experience leading technical decisions, mentoring developers and influencing engineering best practice
• The confidence to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
