Graduate Quantity Surveyor - Construction Consultancy

A well-established construction consultancy is looking to appoint a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join their Glasgow office. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Graduate Quantity Surveyor to develop their career within a supportive business, working alongside experienced commercial professionals on a varied portfolio of projects.

The successful Graduate Quantity Surveyor will gain exposure across the full project lifecycle, receiving structured training and support towards professional chartership.

The company is an established construction and property consultancy providing quantity surveying and commercial services to clients across the UK. Their Glasgow team works across a diverse range of projects, offering graduates the opportunity to build strong technical and commercial experience.

With an emphasis on professional development and progression, they provide an environment where a Graduate Quantity Surveyor can take on increasing responsibility as their experience develops.

The Role

The Graduate Quantity Surveyor will support senior members of the team in delivering cost management services from initial feasibility through to final account.

Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with cost plans, estimates and tender documentation
  • Supporting procurement and tender analysis
  • Preparing valuations and assessing variations
  • Assisting with contract administration and cost reporting
  • Attending client, design team and site meetings
  • Supporting the preparation and agreement of final accounts

The Graduate Quantity Surveyor will work closely with clients, consultants and contractors while developing a broad understanding of commercial construction.

The Person

The successful Graduate Quantity Surveyor will ideally have:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a closely related construction discipline
  • An RICS-accredited degree, or a qualification suitable for progressing towards MRICS
  • Strong numerical, analytical and communication skills
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel
  • A professional and commercially aware approach
  • A genuine desire to develop a long-term career in quantity surveying
