Senior Finance Business Partner - #2126181
Talent Finance Ltd
Interim Senior Finance Business Partner – Product & Technology | £500 – £650 per day | Inside IR35 | Glasgow | Hybrid – Flexible | Initial 6-Month Contract | Potential Permanent Opportunity
Talent Finance are partnering with a high-growth, international software business to recruit an experienced Interim Senior Finance Business Partner for an initial six-month assignment.
This is a senior, hands-on opportunity taking ownership of finance across a £100m+ Product & Technology cost base within a fast-paced, evolving organisation.
We're looking for someone who can quickly get under the skin of the numbers and take ownership of the day-to-day finance operation, bringing clarity, control and strong commercial insight to senior stakeholders.
This is very much an operational finance leadership role, ensuring the BAU finance function runs effectively rather than delivering a standalone project.
For someone who thrives within software, technology and fast-paced PE-backed environments, this is a fantastic opportunity to take on a substantial remit with significant senior exposure.
There is also the potential for the opportunity to become permanent or be extended following the initial six-month assignment.
The Role
Reporting into a senior FP&A leader, you'll take responsibility for finance across the Product & Technology function and become a key partner to its senior leadership team.
Your remit will include:
- Taking ownership of finance across a £100m+ Product & Technology cost base
- Leading monthly reporting, budgeting and forecasting
- Acting as a senior Finance Business Partner to Product & Technology leadership
- Providing clear financial insight, challenge and recommendations
- Understanding key cost drivers and explaining performance against forecast
- Managing month-end and ensuring accurate, timely reporting
- Maintaining oversight of headcount, recruitment and contractor costs
- Working with stakeholders to understand future investment and resource requirements
- Coordinating the finance team supporting Product & Technology, including Finance Business Partner and Analyst-level support
- Setting priorities and ensuring key finance activities are delivered to deadline
- Improving the quality and consistency of financial reporting
- Maintaining strong financial controls and documented processes
- Working across Finance and the wider organisation to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement
- Ensuring a structured and effective handover at the end of the assignment
About You
We're looking for a qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA or CIMA – with strong FP&A and Finance Business Partnering experience who can step into a large, complex environment and make an impact quickly.
Software or technology sector experience is particularly important.
You'll understand the pace and complexity of a technology-led organisation and ideally have experience partnering Product, Technology, R&D or software development functions. Knowledge of R&D and software development lifecycle cost structures would be particularly valuable.
Experience within a PE-backed, high-growth or similarly fast-paced organisation is also important. You'll need to be comfortable operating where expectations are high, priorities move quickly and Finance is expected to provide accurate information and meaningful insight at pace.
You'll ideally bring:
- Strong Finance Business Partnering and FP&A experience
- Previous experience within software, SaaS or technology
- Experience supporting Product, Technology, R&D or software development teams
- Experience within a PE-backed, high-growth or fast-paced organisation
- Excellent budgeting, forecasting and management reporting capability
- Experience managing a significant and complex cost base
- Strong cost management and financial control experience
- Confidence partnering, influencing and challenging senior stakeholders
- Experience leading or coordinating finance teams
- Strong analytical capability and attention to detail
- The ability to turn complex financial information into clear commercial messages
- A proactive, pragmatic approach and the ability to take ownership from day one
Above all, we're looking for someone who can hit the ground running – quickly establishing credibility, understanding a complex finance environment and being equally comfortable getting into the detail as presenting the bigger picture.
Why Consider It?
This is an opportunity to join a successful international software organisation and take ownership of finance across a significant part of the business.
You'll have responsibility for a £100m+ cost base, exposure to senior Product & Technology leadership, a broad FP&A and Finance Business Partnering remit and the opportunity to lead and coordinate a supporting finance team.
For an experienced Senior Finance Business Partner who enjoys software, technology, pace, complexity and being genuinely embedded within the business, this is a particularly interesting assignment.
Location & Hybrid Working
The role is based in Glasgow and operates on a hybrid basis.
Ideally, the business would like someone in the office around two days per week to collaborate with key stakeholders. However, there is flexibility around office attendance for the right person, so we'd still encourage strong candidates to get in touch if a more flexible arrangement is required.
Day Rate: £500 – £650 per day, Inside IR35
Contract: Initial 6 months
Location: Glasgow – Hybrid & Flexible
Potential: Opportunity to become permanent or be extended
