Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Adviser to join a leading organisation on a 12-month contract basis. This is a part-time opportunity supporting a wide range of employee relations activities, including complex investigations, disciplinary and grievance cases, while providing expert advice and guidance to managers and key business stakeholders.The successful candidate will have proven experience managing ER casework, strong UK employment law knowledge and the ability to balance compliance requirements with business needs in a fast-paced environment.
Location: Scotstoun (Hybrid, 2-3 days per week on site)
Rate: £21.03 per hour PAYE or £28.15 per hour Umbrella (Inside IR 35)
Contract Length: 12 Months
Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse portfolio of employee relations cases, including investigations, disciplinary, grievance and other complex people matters.
- Provide expert, legally compliant advice and guidance to managers, HR teams and business stakeholders on employee relations issues.
- Act as a trusted adviser to HR and leadership teams, balancing legal requirements with operational and commercial considerations.
- Assess and mitigate risk, providing recommendations on potential legal, employee and reputational impacts.
- Coach and develop managers to improve capability and confidence in handling employee relations matters consistently and effectively.
- Maintain accurate and detailed case records, ensuring compliance with internal governance and data quality standards.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders including Business HR, Labour Law, Trade Unions, Ethics and Security to achieve effective case outcomes and drive continuous improvement.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in Employee Relations and end-to-end case management.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law, current case law and the ACAS Code of Practice.
- Experience managing investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes within a complex organisation.
- Ability to work independently while recognising and appropriately escalating risk.
- Experience working with Trade Unions and Employee Representative Groups.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
- Strong analytical and digital capability, including experience using case management systems and leveraging data to inform decision-making.
Additional Information:Security Clearance - BPSS clearance required.
IR35 Status - Inside IR35.Working Pattern - Part-time opportunity working 2-3 days per week.
