Anderson Knight is proud to be partnering with a rapidly expanding energy infrastructure contractor as they strengthen their Special Projects commercial team. With major frameworks secured across Scotland, England and Ireland, our client is delivering high‑value MV/HV, BESS and Substation projects that play a crucial role in the UK’s energy transition.
We are seeking a commercially driven Quantity Surveyor who is ready to take ownership of post‑contract commercial management while developing toward senior responsibility. This role offers exceptional exposure, autonomy, and a clear pathway for progression.
The Opportunity
As a Quantity Surveyor within the Special Projects division, you will support the commercial delivery of multi‑million‑pound energy infrastructure projects. You’ll work closely with the Division Commercial Manager, gaining hands‑on experience with NEC contracts, subcontract management, cost control, and compensation event management.
This is an ideal role for someone who wants to grow quickly, take on meaningful responsibility, and be part of a high‑performing, close‑knit commercial team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage subcontract packages including drafting, valuations, payment applications and KPI reviews.
- Identify, record and evaluate variations and NEC compensation events to protect project margins.
- Produce accurate cost/value reporting, CVRs and cost analysis throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support risk and value management activities across multiple projects.
- Assist with contractual claims and ensure compliance with NEC contract requirements.
- Contribute to tender support, bills of quantities and early‑stage commercial risk reviews.
- Maintain strong governance, commercial discipline and adherence to company procedures.
- Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors and senior leadership with clear, confident communication.
About You
- BSc/HND in Quantity Surveying (or part‑time BSc with relevant experience).
- Practical experience with NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
- Background in Infrastructure, Utilities, Power, Substations, BESS or MV/HV Transmission is highly advantageous.
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with commercial/cost‑management software.
- Willing to travel across the UK & Ireland when required.
- Proactive, detail‑focused, organised and able to work under pressure.
