You will be joining a well-established public sector organisation delivering a vital frontline service to local communities across Glasgow. Operating 24/7, the team provides essential support to residents, handling a variety of enquiries and incidents that require a professional, empathetic and efficient response.
Your New Role
As a Call Handler, you will be the first point of contact for members of the public, responding to a range of incoming calls in a fast-paced environment. Working on a rotating 4 days on / 4 days off shift pattern, including day shifts, back shifts and nightshifts, you will:
- Handle incoming calls from customers and service users
- Respond to telecare and community alarm activations
- Log and process anti-social behaviour complaints
- Manage homelessness reports and requests for emergency assistance
- Provide reassurance and support to vulnerable individuals
- Accurately record information on internal systems
- Liaise with internal departments and external agencies where required
- Ensure all enquiries are handled professionally and in line with established procedures
- This is a temporary opportunity offering competitive rates of up to £23.17 per hour.
What You'll Need to Succeed
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Previous experience within a call handling, contact centre or customer service environment
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- Strong administration and IT skills
- Experience handling sensitive or challenging situations
- A flexible approach to working a variety of shift patterns, including nights and weekends
- Experience supporting vulnerable customers would be advantageous
