Location: Glasgow
Salary: £30,000- £32,00
Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
Hybrid working available
Dunwall Partners are working on behalf of our client, an established business within the freight forwarding and international shipping sector, who are looking to appoint a Logistics Co-ordinator to join their experienced Operations team.
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in freight forwarding, transport, shipping, customs or the movement of goods who enjoys taking ownership, working with customers and keeping shipments moving from booking through to final delivery.
The Role
You'll be responsible for coordinating international shipments and ensuring everything runs smoothly, accurately and on schedule.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating shipments from booking through to final delivery
- Liaising with customers, suppliers, carriers and overseas partners
- Managing shipping and freight documentation
- Supporting customs clearance and ensuring compliance
- Coordinating the movement of goods and monitoring shipment schedules
- Resolving issues and keeping customers updated throughout the process
- Managing multiple shipments, priorities and deadlines
- Working closely with the wider Operations team to deliver excellent service
About You
We're looking for someone with practical experience within freight forwarding, transport, shipping, customs or a similar logistics environment.
Your background could include freight forwarding or international logistics, but we are also interested in candidates from related industries where you have experience coordinating the movement of goods and working with customs and documentation.
For example, experience within the whisky, drinks, food & beverage or wider export industry could provide highly transferable skills.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience in freight forwarding, transport, shipping, customs or logistics
- Experience coordinating the movement of goods
- Good knowledge of import/export processes and freight documentation
- An understanding of customs clearance and international shipping
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- The ability to manage your own workload and take ownership
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and ideally experience using a freight-forwarding system
