Are you an experienced Civil Engineering Estimator looking to join a leading infrastructure contractor delivering major rail and civil engineering projects across Scotland?

We're recruiting for an Estimator to join a growing pre-construction team, pricing a diverse range of infrastructure projects including rail, highways, bridges, stations, utilities and environmental works.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of an established contractor with a strong pipeline of secured work and long-term frameworks.

The Role

Reporting into the Pre-Construction team, you'll be responsible for producing accurate, competitive estimates from first principles while working closely with operational, commercial and supply chain teams.

You'll play a key role in securing new business by preparing high-quality tenders for projects across Scotland.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare competitive estimates from first principles.

  • Manage tenders from receipt through to submission.

  • Measure quantities from drawings and specifications.

  • Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.

  • Price labour, plant, materials and temporary works.

  • Assess project risks and opportunities.

  • Prepare tender reports and supporting documentation.

  • Attend tender review meetings with senior management.

  • Liaise with commercial, operational and design teams throughout the bid process.

About You

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience as an Estimator within Civil Engineering.

  • Experience pricing infrastructure projects including rail, highways, bridges, utilities or general civils.

  • Strong First Principles estimating experience.

  • Excellent commercial awareness.

  • Experience using estimating software together with Excel.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
