Senior to Associate Electrical Engineer - #2151223

We are working with an established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy looking to strengthen its electrical engineering team in Glasgow, with interest in experienced engineers operating at Senior, Principal or Associate level.

The role would suit someone who enjoys variety in their work and wants to stay involved across a broad mix of building services projects. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of project delivery, work directly with clients and design teams, support more junior engineers and remain hands-on with the technical side of the role.

You will be joining a collaborative multidisciplinary team with a varied project portfolio, genuine opportunities for progression and the chance to work across projects at different stages from early design through to completion.

You will take responsibility for the electrical design and delivery of building services projects, from early-stage concept and scheme design through to detailed design and construction.

• Manage the electrical building services design and delivery of multiple projects
• Develop electrical design strategies, concept designs and scheme proposals
• Take responsibility for detailed electrical design, specifications and technical output
• Plan project workloads, design programmes and delivery deadlines
• Attend client, design team and project meetings
• Coordinate electrical designs with other engineering disciplines
• Supervise, delegate to and support junior engineers
• Review technical work and maintain appropriate design and QA standards
• Support projects through construction and post-contract stages, including site meetings, installation reviews, testing, defects and completion

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer operating at Senior, Principal or Associate level, ideally with around six years or more UK experience within a building services consultancy or similar MEP design environment.

You will be confident taking ownership of your work, communicating with clients and contributing as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• Strong experience in electrical building services design
• Experience managing projects and balancing multiple priorities
• Comfortable working directly with clients and wider design teams
• Able to support and mentor junior engineers
• Strong technical capability with a good understanding of design quality and QA
• Good working knowledge of electrical design software
• Full right to work in the UK
• UK driving licence preferable, with some travel to meetings and project sites required
