THE ROLE

Seeking a Private Client Tax Manager to lead complex projects and support growth. You'll manage end-to-end tax compliance and deliver strategic advice. The role involves building relationships with clients and developing junior team members. The role is hybrid, based in the Edinburgh or Glasgow area, with flexible office arrangements.

• Manage your own portfolio of high-net-worth clients and trusts
• Oversee compliance work for a variety of entities, ensuring deadlines are met
• Lead advisory projects, including IHT planning and estate strategy
• Collaborate with third-party professionals to deliver comprehensive advice
• Support internal and external training initiatives and develop junior staff
• Use technology, including AI tools and Excel, to enhance client service and efficiency

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Mandatory

• Have at least 5 years’ experience in private client tax advisory and compliance
• Hold a relevant qualification (ATT, CTA, ACA, or equivalent)
• Demonstrate experience managing a portfolio of wealthy clients
• Be familiar with UK tax legislation, including IHT, Trusts, and Landed Estates
• Have strong skills in VAT, inheritance tax planning, and estate administration
• Be aware of technology’s role in tax and advice delivery, including Excel and ERP systems

Preferred

• Experience working with clients in agriculture, renewables, or landed estates
• Exposure to estate and trust accounting, management, or project management skills
• Background working with multi-disciplinary teams and external advisors
• Proven ability to develop and mentor junior staff

• Salary range: £50,000–£62,000, negotiable based on experience
