Site Manager – Solar & Renewable Energy

About the Role

Due to significant growth and the award of major framework contracts across Scotland, we are looking to recruit 4 Site Managers to join a growing renewable energy business on a permanent basis.

The successful Site Managers will oversee the delivery of renewable energy and energy efficiency projects across domestic and commercial sectors, including solar PV panel installations, EV charging infrastructure, and wider energy improvement works.

With projects operating throughout Scotland, your home location is flexible, although regular travel and occasional overnight stays will be required.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Site Managers with a construction, electrical or renewables background to join a business with a strong pipeline of secured work and long-term project opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day running of multiple installation sites, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

• Oversee the installation of solar PV panels, EV charging points and associated renewable energy systems across domestic and commercial properties.

• Coordinate in-house installation teams, subcontractors and site operatives, ensuring resources are effectively managed.

• Plan workloads, review project programmes and monitor progress against agreed deadlines.

• Ensure all works are completed to the required quality standards and specification.

• Review and approve RAMS before works commence, ensuring site teams understand and follow safe working procedures.

• Carry out regular site inspections, toolbox talks and health and safety checks.

• Work closely with Contracts Managers, senior management and installation teams to maintain clear communication between site and office.

• Coordinate material requirements, deliveries and procurement to ensure projects run efficiently.

• Prepare and submit site progress reports, maintain accurate project records and keep company management systems updated.

• Chair site meetings and liaise with clients, customers and project stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain service standards.

• Manage site personnel, addressing performance, conduct and operational issues where required.

• Ensure all relevant training, certification and site documentation are available and up to date.

• Identify potential project risks, resolve site issues and implement improvements to working practices.

About You

We are looking for hands-on Site Managers who can confidently manage installation teams and deliver projects across multiple locations.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Site Manager within construction, electrical installations, renewables or a related industry.

• Experience overseeing site-based teams and subcontractors.

• A good understanding of health and safety requirements within construction or electrical installation environments.

• Experience managing project programmes, materials, resources and site documentation.

• Strong organisational, communication and people management skills.

• The ability to manage multiple sites and respond effectively to changing project requirements.

• A flexible approach to travel, including occasional overnight stays across Scotland.

Essential Qualifications

• Valid SMSTS certificate.

• In-date 3-day First Aid at Work certificate.

• Full, valid UK driving licence.

• Good understanding of RAMS, site safety procedures and construction compliance.

Knowledge of solar PV installations, EV charging, domestic retrofit or PAS 2030 / PAS 2035 would be advantageous.
