Mobile PSV Field Service Technician – Scotland

Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 16:30 (flexible working hours available)
Occasional out-of-hours work required as the role demands
Full time, permanent

Earning Potential – Salary:
£55,000 per annum basic
£150 per week when on-call
£100 callout fee for out-of-hours callouts up to 2 hours – Overtime Rates paid per hour thereafter
Overtime and commission structure for additional parts and service sales

Realistic OTE: £72,500 - £79,500

Overview
We're looking for an experienced Mobile PSV Field Service Technician to join a leader in the bus and coach industry, covering Scotland.

This role is a genuinely brilliant career move, with ongoing training, bonus opportunity and room to progress within the position.

You'll be providing high-quality maintenance and repair services to a growing fleet, working independently in a field-based role. If you've got PSV or heavy vehicle experience and you're ready for a mobile role with serious earning potential, this is the one.

Key Responsibilities

• Performing detailed inspections and diagnostics – identifying and resolving mechanical and electrical issues, including axle and driveline repairs
  
  
• Conducting pre-delivery inspections, routine maintenance, preventative measures, and repairs
  
  
• Electrical fault finding – including diagnosing CAN networks
  
  
• Diagnosing faults on HGV/PSV air systems
  
  
• Complying with all health and safety regulations and company policies
  
  
• Utilising diagnostic equipment and staying up to date with emerging technologies
  
  
• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections
  
  
• Working independently in a field-based role – managing time and resources effectively
  
  

What You'll Need

• Proven experience as a Service Technician within the bus, coach, or heavy vehicle sector
  
  
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle components
  
  
• Relevant technical qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent) in vehicle maintenance and repair
  
  
• Full clean driving licence – D/PSV licence preferable
  
  
• Willingness to travel across Scotland – and occasionally nationally/internationally for training
  
  
• Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
