Job Overview

We are seeking professional and reliable HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Drivers for a high-earning 6 to 10-week temporary contract to support our core distribution network.

The role is focused on clean, efficient depot-to-depot trunking work between major hubs in the Stoke, Milton Keynes, Glasgow and Bristol areas. This position involves minimal physical handling of freight. To fully support you during this short-term deployment, premium hotel accommodation (including daily breakfast and an additional meal), a daily subsistence allowance, travel mileage coverage, and a substantial weekly relocation bonus are provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Trunking Operations: Safely transport loads from one designated depot to another.
• Timetable Adherence: Complete scheduled hub-to-hub drop-offs on time to maintain network efficiency.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting defects immediately.
• Regulatory Compliance: Strictly adhere to EU Drivers' Hours, working time directives, and tachograph regulations.
• Minimal Manual Handling: The role is primarily drop-and-swap or depot-assisted offloading.

Candidate Requirements

• Licence: Valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.
• Cards: Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• Driving Record: Clean licence preferred (up to 6 minor points considered; no active DR, DD, or IN endorsements).
• Flexibility: Willingness to relocate temporarily to provided accommodation and work flexible shift patterns (including day, night, and weekend shifts).
• Christmas & New Year - you must be available to work either Christmas Eve or Boxing Day and either New Year's Eve or New Year's Day

What We Offer & Compensation Details

• Premium Base Pay: Competitive hourly rates between £21.44 and £25.32 per hour, plus accrued holiday pay.
• Accommodation: Premium hotel accommodation fully funded for the duration of the contract.
• Hotel Catering: Complimentary breakfast and one main meal provided daily at the hotel.
• Daily Subsistence:£15.00 per day allowance to cover additional food and living expenses.
• Completion Bonus: A relocation payment of £240.00 per week, accumulated and paid out as a combined lump sum at the end of the project.
• Travel Mileage:Mileage paid from home address (within United Kingdom only) to and from the allocated hotel at the start and end of assignment at 45 pence per mile (1 return trip paid in total).
• To qualify for accommodation and daily meals you must reside a minimum of 1 driving hour from the site you wish to be located to.
