Join a team delivering some of the world's most advanced naval platforms. Working on the prestigious Type 26 Frigate programme, you'll play a vital role in installing and commissioning the electrical systems that power the next generation of Royal Navy vessels.
This is an opportunity to apply your trade skills in a unique, large-scale engineering environment while contributing to projects of national importance.
What You'll Be Doing- Installing a variety of cable types including multi-core, single-core and coaxial cables
- Installing electrical systems and equipment including junction boxes, fuse panels, consoles, transformers and switches
- Completing cable terminations and electrical equipment installations
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation
- Collaborating with multi-disciplinary shipbuilding teams to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to schedule
- Maintaining high standards of quality, safety and workmanship at all times
- Modern Apprenticeship (SVQ Level 3) or equivalent electrical trade qualification
- Valid SJIB Card
- Ability to provide trade papers as part of the application process
- Experience working within marine, shipbuilding or major industrial environments
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical instructions
- Understanding of risk assessments, PUWER, COSHH and safe working practices
- Knowledge of isolation, tag-out and proving-dead procedures
- Experience mounting electrical equipment, earthing components and carrying out cable terminations to trade standards
Days: Monday to Thursday, 07:00-16:30
Nights: Monday to Thursday, 20:30-06:00
Weekends: Friday to Sunday, 07:00-19:30
The Electrical Team builds the power and control systems that bring Type 26 frigates to life. As part of a large, multi-skilled workforce, you'll install, route and connect the equipment that keeps these advanced vessels operational. It's a hands-on role within a highly skilled team, delivering world-class engineering solutions and supporting one of the UK's most exciting shipbuilding programmes.
