Department:
Drainage/Depot Network consists of a strategically located depot network across the UK, spanning from Aberdeen to Plymouth. Enabling rapid response to customer requirements and providing round-the-clock coverage, 365 days a year.
This extensive footprint allows Lanes to combine local responsiveness with national capability, ensuring consistent service standards while maintaining close relationships with regional customers and infrastructure partners.
Purpose of the role:
The Civils Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating civil engineering and drainage construction activities on site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and to the required quality standards. The role acts as the link between operational teams, clients, subcontractors, and management, ensuring work is completed in line with company procedures, health & safety regulations, and client specifications.

About the role:
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 47.5 hours per week
- Location: Glasgow
- Salary: Up to £16.50 per hour dependant on experience
- Company Vehicle for business use
- 21 days holiday + bank holidays
- Assisting the Contracts manager overseeing inventory needs and undertaking planning of onsite jobs activities
- Liaise with clients and ADMs
- Assisting with the development of Method statement and risk assessment
- Assisting the Contracts manager with planning and programming of the job management system (Teamleaf )
- Scope future work site to allow suitable preparation and enabling prior to on site start dates
- Motivating / Assisting and supervising employees both at depot and on site
- Evaluating the performance of your assigned employees, delivering positive and/or negative feedback, and addressing any shortcomings
- Ensure on site compliance procedures are being followed through the on-site auditing process
- Ensure monthly toolbox talks are delivered to all on site operatives and monthly hose checks are completed / actioned and reported via the monthly reporting procedure
- Evaluating and reporting on any site issues back to the operations manager
- Developing strategies along with the Contracts manager to improve delivery of on-site works
- Knowledge of civils works From initial excavation to backfill and reinstatement
- Confidence speaking to clients
- Able to complete scoping/pricing works
- NRSWA Supervisor ticket desirable
