Consultant – Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate & REST API - #2167284

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Java Consultant with strong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Hibernate, and REST API development to join our client's team in Glasgow.

The ideal candidate should have strong software development experience, technical analysis skills, Microservices design knowledge, and the ability to create Low-Level Design (LLD) documents based on business and project requirements.

Experience Required: 5+ Years

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Microservices.
• Develop, integrate, and maintain REST APIs, RESTful web services, and SOAP web services.
• Participate in project analysis, technical design, implementation, testing, and commissioning phases.
• Analyse business requirements and assess their technical impact on application development.
• Prepare Low-Level Design (LLD) documents according to project requirements.
• Collaborate with Platform Design teams on Microservices design and architecture activities.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, and assumptions during project delivery.
• Work with Oracle, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Support application development using HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, Angular, or React.
• Work with application servers such as JBoss, Tomcat, and Apache.
• Use version control tools such as Git, Gerrit, SVN, or CVS.
• Support build, deployment, and continuous integration activities using Jenkins.
• Work with AWS and cloud technologies where required.
• Use Jira and Confluence for project tracking, documentation, and collaboration.

Mandatory Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Java development.
• Strong hands-on experience in Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Experience with Hibernate and REST API development.
• Knowledge of SOAP and REST web services.
• Experience in technical analysis and Low-Level Design documentation.
• Database experience with Oracle, SQL, or NoSQL.
• Strong problem-solving and technical communication skills.

Good-to-Have Skills

• AWS and cloud technologies.
• Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines.
• Jira and Confluence.
• Git, Gerrit, SVN, or CVS.
• Angular or React.
• HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, and CSS.
• JBoss, Tomcat, and Apache application servers.

Work Arrangement

Candidates must be comfortable working in a hybrid model from Glasgow, with 2 days per week in the office.
