Enterprise Architect - #2173679
Experis Scotland
Enterprise Architect
Location: Glasgow
Working pattern: Hybrid – 1–2 days per week in the office
Contract: Permanent
I'm currently partnering with a leading UK wealth and investment management organisation to recruit an experienced Enterprise Architect to join its Technology function.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the organisation's long-term technology strategy, influencing architectural decisions across the business and ensuring technology investment supports wider business objectives.
The organisation manages significant client assets and operates within a complex, highly regulated environment. With a strong focus on modernising its technology estate, improving platform reuse and reducing complexity, this role will be central to ensuring technology evolves in a coherent, scalable and sustainable way.
The position would suit an experienced Enterprise Architect or senior architecture professional who combines strategic thinking with strong technical knowledge and a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach.
You'll be responsible for defining and evolving enterprise architecture, translating business strategy into clear technology roadmaps and providing architectural leadership across major programmes and initiatives.
Working closely with senior business and technology stakeholders, you'll help ensure individual projects contribute to a joined-up technology strategy, balancing immediate delivery requirements with longer-term architectural objectives.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Defining and evolving enterprise target architectures, transition architectures and technology roadmaps.
- Translating business and technology strategy into clear architectural priorities and investment decisions.
- Providing architectural leadership across applications, data, integration, cloud, infrastructure, security and engineering.
- Driving technology rationalisation, reducing duplication and identifying opportunities to consolidate platforms and retire legacy systems.
- Establishing enterprise technology principles, standards, reference architectures and reusable design patterns.
- Working closely with engineering, platform, cloud, data and cyber security teams to enable effective and compliant delivery.
- Influencing senior stakeholders across business and technology functions, communicating architectural options, risks and trade-offs.
- Supporting strategic technology and vendor evaluations, considering scalability, interoperability, resilience, security and long-term cost.
- Ensuring architecture governance remains proportionate, enabling delivery teams to move quickly while maintaining appropriate controls.
- Assessing emerging technologies, including AI and automation, and identifying opportunities to deliver business value.
About You
We're keen to speak with candidates who have significant experience operating as an Enterprise Architect, Lead Architect or in an equivalent senior architecture position.
You'll ideally bring:
- Proven experience defining enterprise architecture, target states and technology roadmaps across multiple business domains.
- Broad architectural knowledge spanning applications, data, integration, cloud, infrastructure, security and engineering.
- Experience shaping technology strategy, platform approaches and technology rationalisation initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of modern architecture patterns, including cloud-native, SaaS, API-led, event-driven and data-centric solutions.
- Working knowledge of AWS and Azure architecture, including security, resilience, networking, observability and cost considerations.
- An understanding of modern engineering practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure as code and DevSecOps.
- Experience developing practical technology standards, reusable patterns and architectural guardrails.
- The ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex technical concepts in a clear, business-focused way.
- A pragmatic mindset, balancing long-term architectural direction with realistic delivery requirements.
Experience within financial services, wealth management or another regulated environment would be advantageous.
