We are currently recruiting for a Quality Manager to join our client's growing quality business, supporting the delivery of one of the UK's most complex and highly regulated infrastructure programmes.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality professional to take ownership of quality management across a major project, ensuring the highest standards of compliance, assurance, governance and continuous improvement are maintained throughout delivery. Working closely with project leadership, operational teams and SHEQ professionals, you will lead the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems while driving a strong culture of quality across the programme.

This role offers the opportunity to work within a safety-critical environment on nationally significant infrastructure projects, whilst benefiting from excellent career development and progression opportunities within a leading engineering and construction business.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation, management and continual improvement of project quality management systems in line with company, client and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain project quality plans, procedures, processes and assurance arrangements.
  • Manage audit and assurance programmes across project and construction delivery functions.
  • Lead internal and external audits, inspections and reviews, ensuring compliance with contractual, statutory and regulatory obligations.
  • Provide quality leadership and guidance to project teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
  • Monitor project performance against quality objectives, identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure effective management of non-conformances, corrective actions and lessons learned.
  • Produce quality reports and performance metrics for project and business leadership teams.
  • Support client, regulator and third-party assurance activities, acting as the primary quality representative for the project.
  • Promote a positive quality culture focused on right - first-time delivery, compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with SHEQ teams to ensure integrated management system requirements are achieved.
  • Mentor and support quality personnel and project teams, helping to build capability across the wider business.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a Quality Manager, Senior Quality Engineer or Quality Assurance Manager position within construction, infrastructure, engineering, defence, nuclear, rail, power or other highly regulated sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and quality assurance principles.
  • Demonstrable experience managing quality systems on large-scale construction or engineering projects.
  • Previous experience leading audit and assurance programmes.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, governance and quality control processes within project delivery environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge at all levels.
  • Experience managing non-conformance, corrective action and continual improvement processes.
  • Strong analytical, reporting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Lead Auditor qualification or equivalent auditing experience would be advantageous.
  • Relevant quality, engineering or construction qualification, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience working within regulated sectors such as Nuclear, Defence, Energy, Rail, Oil & Gas or major infrastructure projects would be highly desirable.

What is in it for you?

  • Generous holiday entitlement with the option to buy additional annual leave.
  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements.
  • Family-friendly policies and work-life balance initiatives.
  • Structured career development and mentoring programmes.
  • Professional membership support and ongoing training opportunities.
  • Contributory pension scheme.
  • Annual bonus scheme.
  • Recognition and long-service award programmes.
  • Company car or car allowance (role dependent).
  • Private Medical Insurance (role dependent).
  • Share-save scheme.
  • Employee discounts including cycle-to-work and gym membership schemes.
  • Employee assistance and wellbeing support services for employees and their families.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role within a high-profile programme, helping to maintain the highest standards of quality, compliance, and assurance in a highly regulated environment. You will work closely with programme delivery teams, conducting audit and assurance activities across a wide range of disciplines while gaining valuable experience and excellent career development opportunities.
