Marketing Communications Specialist - #2176717
Gren UK
Who we are
Gren is building the next generation of low-carbon energy infrastructure, owning the generation, building the networks, and delivering heat and power directly to the businesses and institutions that depend on them.
We're already an established energy supplier across Northern Europe, running over 700km of district heating networks and delivering 2.3 TWh of heat a year. Backed by Partners Group, we've invested over £300 million in UK energy infrastructure since entering the market.
Here in Glasgow, we're turning that investment into reality. Energy on Clyde is Gren's flagship UK project: a city-scale low-carbon heat and power network under construction right now, and the first of its kind in the UK. It's the foundation of Glasgow's future energy system, and the launchpad for Gren's next generation of utilities across the UK.
The role
We need a hands-on marketer to help bring Energy on Clyde to life: creating the content and running the campaigns that build awareness, trust and demand among the organisations we need on board.
This is a B2B and B2G role, marketing to specific organisations and sectors rather than the general public, using targeted content and marketing automation to build relationships over time, from first contact through to becoming a customer.
The strategy sits with the Marketing Director. This role is about turning that strategy into clear comms, engaging content and effective campaigns – moving at pace, and seeing your work go live, on brand and making an impact.
Key responsibilities
- Creating long and short-form content tailored to specific sectors and accounts (NHS, universities, local authorities, commercial property)
- Executing account-based marketing campaigns, from content creation to channel delivery
- Building and running nurture journeys in HubSpot, keeping leads and prospects moving through the funnel
- Working with creative partners on larger campaign moments, and AI-assisted tools for smaller content, produced quickly and efficiently
- Building campaign landing pages and web content, and implementing these in the web CMS
- Tracking and reporting on tactical campaign metrics
- Coordinating workstreams, timelines, deliverables and third-party suppliers
- Keeping all outputs on brand and on message
Experience required
We care more about what you've actually done than where you studied.
A degree is welcome but not required.
- Proven, applied experience in marketing, communications or content delivery, evidenced through real campaigns and outcomes
- A genuine grasp of marketing fundamentals, audience, positioning, and what moves someone from unaware to engaged to converted
- Experience in B2B or B2G marketing, or a clear understanding of longer, multi-stakeholder buying journeys
- Evidence of continual learning, through formal study, professional bodies (e.g. CIM), respected industry courses (e.g. Mark Ritson's Mini MBA), or simply staying close to the craft
What we’re looking for
- Writes clearly and persuasively, able to shape a message for a website, an email or a social post
- Ideally has an eye for creative, and knows what great looks like
- Organised and able to run multiple workstreams at once and still hit the deadline
- Confident managing external partners and creative agencies, clear on what good looks like
- Comfortable with ambiguity, and sees it as something to shape, not wait out
- Proactive and hands-on, more interested in getting it done well than getting it perfect
- Builds good working relationships easily, with the Marketing Director, suppliers, and colleagues alike
What we can offer you
· Between £38,000 to £45,000 per annum, pro rata depending on your level of experience
· Bupa Private healthcare for the duration of the contract
· 10% employer pension contribution
· 25 days' annual leave plus 8 bank holidays (pro rata for the contract term)
· Hybrid working: 3-4 days in our Glasgow office
· Access to the AI and creative tools you need to do the job well
· Occasional UK travel to our London office and project sites across the country
