Senior Account Handler (Financial Lines - MLP / D&O) – Glasgow

Role Summary

If you are an experienced Financial Lines specialist looking for genuine account ownership, this position offers complete cradle-to-grave handling without the typical division between desk handler and field executive. Stepping into a newly reshaped regional unit capturing business transferring from London, you will take ownership of a growing portfolio of Management Liability / D&O risks, giving you direct market access, client interaction, and the flexibility to shape the role towards technical specialism or future team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the complete cradle-to-grave lifecycle of an established Directors & Officers / Management Liability book, giving you total day-to-day autonomy over your portfolio without hand-offs to external Account Executives.
• Negotiate risk placements directly with Lloyd's and company market underwriters, expanding your personal underwriter network and sharpening your specialist broking expertise.
• Conduct face-to-face and virtual client meetings to advise on coverage and structure programmes, elevating your profile as a technical specialist rather than a purely administrative handler.
• Partner with regional Professional Indemnity teams and London market specialists to identify and secure D&O cross-sell opportunities, giving you immediate exposure to larger, more complex corporate accounts.

Requirements

• Demonstrated account handling or broking experience within Financial Lines, with strong knowledge of Directors & Officers (D&O) / Management Liability.
• Strong technical broking background with understanding of Lloyd's and London Market placement processes and documentation.
• Comfortable managing direct client relationships and running renewal meetings independently.
• Progress towards or completion of ACII qualifications is welcomed, as is wider familiarity with Cyber or Financial Institutions risks.
