YourShortlist

About YourShortlist

YourShortlist helps UK businesses make better technology purchasing decisions.

Our members have access to a free, independent service designed to help them understand their requirements, navigate the technology marketplace and identify suitable suppliers for their projects.

We already have a community of more than 20,000 UK members and a growing network of affiliate organisations introducing YourShortlist to their own customers and contacts.

As we continue to grow, we want to build much stronger and more regular relationships with that community – ensuring members see YourShortlist as an ongoing source of useful insight, education and support, rather than simply a service they engage with when a technology project is already underway.

We are therefore looking for a Member Growth & Engagement Manager to lead this next stage of our member strategy.

The Role

This is a newly created role with responsibility for growing and engaging the YourShortlist member community.

You will develop campaigns and initiatives that keep YourShortlist visible and relevant throughout the year, helping members identify technology requirements earlier and generating opportunities for our specialist SDR team to qualify.

You will also work closely with our growing network of affiliate partners, helping them communicate the YourShortlist proposition effectively to their customer bases and turning those partnerships into a consistent source of new member registrations and engagement.

This is not an SDR or direct sales role.

Instead, you will sit at the top of the engagement funnel – using digital marketing, communications, content, partnerships and events to create interest, build relationships and generate inbound opportunities.

Our SDR team will remain responsible for fully understanding and qualifying individual technology projects.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role will mean that YourShortlist develops an active and engaged member community rather than a database of businesses that only hear from us when they have an immediate requirement.

You will help us:

  • Grow our membership through successful affiliate relationships
  • Increase the frequency and quality of engagement with existing members
  • Build greater awareness of the breadth of support available through YourShortlist
  • Identify potential technology projects earlier in the buying journey
  • Generate a growing pipeline of inbound opportunities for our SDR team
  • Build measurable and productive affiliate partnerships
Create an increasingly recognisable and trusted member brand

Requirements

Member Engagement

Develop and deliver an ongoing engagement strategy for our existing community of 20,000+ UK members.

Create regular reasons for members to interact with YourShortlist, including:

  • Member newsletters and email campaigns
  • Educational content and technology insights
  • Webinars, workshops and member events
  • Social and digital campaigns
  • Technology guides and resources
  • Surveys, polls and market insight activity
  • Campaigns linked to emerging technology trends and common business challenges

Build segmented and personalised member journeys, ensuring communications are relevant to different organisations, industries, roles and technology interests.

Develop campaigns designed to identify members considering future technology investments before a formal procurement project has begun.

Work with the SDR team to create effective handover processes for members who demonstrate project intent or request further support.

Build an annual member engagement calendar and ensure YourShortlist maintains consistent communication with its member community throughout the year.

Affiliate Growth & Engagement

Act as the day-to-day engagement contact for YourShortlist affiliate partners.

Build strong working relationships with affiliates and ensure they clearly understand how YourShortlist can add value to their customers and members.

Develop joint campaigns that affiliates can easily share with their audiences, including:

  • Email campaigns
  • Newsletter content
  • Social media assets
  • Webinars and events
  • Educational resources
  • Landing pages
  • Co-branded campaigns

Make it easy for affiliates to introduce and promote YourShortlist within their customer communities.

Work with affiliate partners to identify opportunities for targeted campaigns based on the interests and requirements of their customer bases.

Track affiliate activity and performance, identifying the partnerships and campaigns generating the strongest engagement, member registrations and project opportunities.

Proactively identify ways to increase activity from existing affiliates and support the wider business in developing new affiliate relationships.

Digital Marketing & Campaign Management

Take ownership of digital campaigns designed to increase member engagement and generate inbound enquiries.

Use email marketing, CRM automation, social media and digital content to develop structured member journeys and nurture campaigns.

Create targeted campaigns based on member behaviour, previous conversations, technology interests and known business requirements.

Work with internal and external resources to develop engaging campaign content and creative assets.

Continuously test and improve messaging, audiences, calls to action and campaign formats.

Ensure campaigns are appropriately tracked so that engagement can be measured from initial communication through to member enquiry and qualified opportunity.

Content & Events

Develop an ongoing programme of valuable, non-sales-led content for the YourShortlist community.

Identify topics that will genuinely help UK businesses understand technology, digital transformation and emerging trends.

Coordinate webinars, roundtables, educational sessions and other events that encourage members and affiliate audiences to engage with the brand.

Work with technology specialists, partners and internal subject-matter experts where appropriate to create credible and useful content.

Repurpose content across email, social media, website and other digital channels to maximise reach and engagement.

Data, CRM & Reporting

Use CRM and marketing data to understand member behaviour and identify opportunities for improved engagement.

Ensure member and campaign data is accurately recorded and maintained.

Develop clear reporting around key performance indicators including:

  • New member registrations
  • Affiliate-generated members
  • Member engagement rates
  • Email campaign performance
  • Event registrations and attendance
  • Inbound enquiries
  • Members identifying new technology requirements
  • Opportunities passed to the SDR team
  • Qualified projects generated from engagement activity
  • Affiliate activity and conversion performance

Use this insight to continuously refine the member engagement and affiliate strategy.

  • Create an increasingly recognisable and trusted member brand

About You

We are looking for someone who combines strong digital marketing skills with excellent relationship-building and communication ability.

You may currently work in growth marketing, customer marketing, membership marketing, digital marketing, partnerships or community engagement.

You will ideally have experience of:

  • Developing and delivering digital marketing campaigns
  • Email marketing and marketing automation
  • CRM-driven customer or member journeys
  • Audience segmentation and database marketing
  • Content marketing
  • Social media and digital engagement
  • Managing newsletters and regular customer communications
  • Running webinars, events or online engagement programmes
  • Managing external partners, affiliates or strategic relationships
  • Measuring campaign performance and using data to improve results

Experience within technology or B2B services would be useful but is not essential.

More important is an ability to understand our members, identify what will encourage them to engage and turn that understanding into effective campaigns and activity.

Personal Attributes

You will be:

  • Commercially minded and focused on measurable outcomes
  • Creative and full of ideas for engaging different audiences
  • Confident building relationships with external organisations
  • A strong written and verbal communicator
  • Comfortable working with CRM, email and digital marketing platforms
  • Highly organised and capable of managing multiple campaigns simultaneously
  • Analytical enough to understand what is working and what needs to change
  • Proactive and comfortable taking ownership of a newly created role
Collaborative and able to work effectively with SDR, marketing, account management and leadership teams

Benefits

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to shape a newly created role and have a significant influence on how YourShortlist develops its member proposition.

You will inherit an established UK member base of more than 20,000 organisations alongside a growing affiliate network, giving you a substantial audience from day one.

Rather than simply maintaining an existing programme, you will have the opportunity to build the engagement strategy – developing the campaigns, content, events and member journeys that turn YourShortlist into an active business community and generate measurable commercial impact.

The role will be based from our Glasgow HQ, with the option to work on a hybrid basis.

We recognise that talented people have different requirements and commitments, and we are always happy to discuss flexible working arrangements.
