Your new company
I'm currently recruiting for two experienced Housing Officers to join the Tenancy Services team of an established Housing Association on an initial temporary contract. This would be a great opportunity for Housing Officers who enjoy being out on patch, engaging with tenants and delivering a hands-on tenancy management service.
Your new role
- Working within the Tenancy Services team, you'll be responsible for delivering a proactive and customer-focused housing management service across an allocated geographical patch. The role will involve building positive relationships with tenants, responding to tenancy-related enquiries and supporting the effective management of homes and communities. You'll manage your own workload and cases, balancing office-based administration with regular travel across your patch.Typical areas of responsibility are likely to include:
- Providing day-to-day tenancy management support and acting as a key point of contact for tenants
- Responding to a range of housing and tenancy-related enquiries, ensuring customers receive clear advice and appropriate support
- Managing tenancy matters and maintaining accurate case notes, tenant records and housing management system updates
- Working proactively with tenants to help sustain tenancies and resolve issues at an early stage
- Carrying out home visits and patch-based appointments as required
- Identifying and responding to wider estate and neighbourhood management issues
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to resolve more complex tenant or tenancy matters
- Managing competing priorities and progressing cases effectively within a busy housing environment
- Delivering a professional, approachable and customer-focused housing service
- As patches could extend as far as Dundee or Arbroath, this role would particularly suit someone who is comfortable being out and about, enjoys variety in their working week and is happy to travel regularly.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience within a Housing Officer, Tenancy Services Officer or similar housing management role is essential
- Demonstrable experience of managing tenancies and dealing directly with tenants across a varied caseload.
- Experience carrying out home visits, tenancy visits and patch-based housing management.
- Confident managing tenancy-related enquiries and cases, including sensitive or challenging situations.
- Previous experience of estate and neighbourhood management, identifying issues and coordinating appropriate follow-up.
- Experience working with housing management systems, maintaining accurate case notes and tenant records.
- Strong understanding of tenancy sustainment and the ability to identify when tenants may require additional support.
- Comfortable working with internal teams and external agencies to resolve housing and tenancy matters.
- Able to manage a busy workload independently, prioritising cases and responding to changing demands.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel would be beneficial given the geographical spread of the patches.
What you'll get in return
- 2 x full-time Housing Officer positions
- Based in Lanarkshire
- 34.5 hours per week
- Immediate start
- Initial contract of approximately 12 weeks
