DevOps Engineer - #2184424

ASA Recruitment’s client, a Public Sector organisation with offices in both Glasgow and Dundee are currently looking to recruit 2x DevOps Engineers for initial 6 month contracts (with potential extensions) on a rate of up to £635/day inside of IR35 (based on experience). The candidates will be required to spend a minimum 2 days per week in either Glasgow or Dundee offices.

Responsibilities:

Working alongside solution architects and engineers, within an agile scrum team, the successful candidates will contribute to the continued development of a data-sharing platform, including expansion of API capabilities, enhancement of data integration pipelines, and implementation of scalable event-driven processing patterns.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Developing and enhancing existing AWS API Gateway and Lambda-based services that provide secure access to enterprise data.
• Implementing new data ingestion and publication capabilities, including integration with existing change-data-capture and event-streaming solutions.
• Supporting the onboarding of additional datasets through the extension of existing data synchronisation and processing pipelines.
• Contributing to the design and implementation of solutions for processing high volumes of data change events and maintaining downstream data products.
• Working with architects and engineering teams to deliver future platform capabilities, including enhanced authorisation controls, event-notification services and other strategic roadmap features.
• Producing technical documentation and supporting knowledge transfer to ensure sustainable operation and facilitate ongoing development of the platform.

Experience:

• Experience building and supporting high-volume data processing solutions, including the efficient handling of large datasets, frequent data changes and complex business-rule processing.
• Experience building and supporting event-driven architectures using technologies such as Kafka, SQS, SNS or EventBridge to enable reliable, scalable and resilient processing of business events.
• Experience building and supporting API-driven services using AWS API Gateway and AWS Lambda, integrating relational databases and enterprise data sources to deliver secure, scalable and resilient business capabilities.
• Experience implementing and supporting data integration solutions, including change data capture, data synchronisation and the reliable movement of data across cloud-hosted enterprise platforms.
• Experience collaborating with architects and engineering teams to evolve platform capabilities and deliver sustainable long-term solutions.
