Assistant Management Accountant - #2186993

Anderson Knight is delighted to be partnering with a leading organisation within the energy sector to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business in Glasgow and become part of a supportive finance team, where you'll gain exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities while supporting key financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting activities.

The successful candidate will work closely with finance and operational teams, assisting with month-end processes, financial analysis and reporting, while helping to provide valuable insights that support business performance and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
• Support month-end and year-end processes, ensuring reporting deadlines are achieved.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any variances.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Produce financial reports and analysis to support management decision-making.
• Support the preparation of accruals, prepayments and journal postings.
• Work closely with stakeholders across the business, providing financial support and insight.
• Assist in maintaining and improving financial controls and reporting processes.
• Support internal and external audit requirements.
• Contribute to ongoing finance projects and provide ad hoc analysis as required.

About You

• Part-qualified ACCA or CIMA.
• Previous experience within a finance or accounting role, ideally with exposure to management accounts and month-end processes.
• Strong understanding of reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting activities would be advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across the business.
• Strong Excel skills and experience using finance systems.
• Organised, proactive and able to manage competing deadlines effectively.
