You will work closely with clients, architects, mechanical engineers, contractors, and other design professionals to develop practical, energy-efficient, and cost-effective solutions.


Role

• Produce electrical designs for building services projects from concept through to detailed design.
• Undertake electrical calculations, sizing and technical assessments.
• Develop electrical schematics, layouts, specifications and design documentation.
• Design systems including lighting, small power, LV distribution, fire alarm, emergency lighting, containment, earthing and lightning protection.
• Liaise with clients, architects, contractors and other engineering disciplines.
• Attend design meetings, site visits and project inspections where required.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, schedules and tender documentation.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant British Standards, Building Regulations and industry guidance.

Qualifications / Experience

• A degree/HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Previous experience in electrical building services design.
• Good knowledge of relevant British Standards, IET regulations and Building Regulations.
• Experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP.
• Experience with electrical design software and calculation packages such as Amtech, Dialux, Electrical OM
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to manage your own workload and meet project deadlines.
• A practical and solutions-focused approach to engineering design
