VNI Legal are delighted to once again be working with our long standing client, a leading Scottish law firm, who are looking for an experienced IP solicitor to work from one of their offices in Edinburgh or Glasgow.

This is the chance to work for one of Scotland’s leading and dedicated Intellectual Property teams who advise clients across a broad range of sectors on how to protect, commercialise and maximise the value of their ideas, brands and innovations. Alongside the specialist IP expertise, they support clients with a wide range of commercial, contractual, data protection and regulatory matters, providing practical legal advice tailored to their business needs.

As part of one of the largest specialist Intellectual Property teams in Scotland, you’ll work with an impressive and varied client base, advising on everything from commercial contracts to trademark protection and data privacy. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise within a collaborative and highly regarded team, recognised in both Legal 500 and Chambers, while building strong client relationships and contributing to the continued development of the practice.

Details:

• Commercial Contracts - drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial agreements, including licensing, collaboration, confidentiality, software, sponsorship and supply agreements.
• Trademarks and Branding - advising clients on brand protection strategies, trademark clearance, registration, portfolio management and enforcement across the UK and internationally.
• Data Protection and Privacy - advising clients on data protection and privacy matters, helping them navigate their legal obligations and manage risk.
• Intellectual Property Advisory Work - supporting clients on a broad range of IP matters, including copyright, design rights, ownership, infringement and the commercial exploitation of intellectual property.
• Commercial and Regulatory Advice - providing practical, day-to-day commercial and regulatory advice to clients across a variety of sectors and business activities. • Building Relationships – developing trusted relationships with clients by delivering responsive, commercially focused advice and taking the time to understand their business objectives.
• Collaboration - working closely with colleagues across the firm to deliver joined-up legal solutions and contribute to a supportive and collaborative team environment.

What you’ll need:

• A qualified Solicitor with at least 2 years’ post-qualified experience. Candidates with more experience are also encouraged to apply.
• Experience in intellectual property and/or commercial contracts work, ideally with exposure to trademarks, branding and commercial advisory matters.
• An interest in further developing specialist expertise across a broad range of commercial, IP and regulatory issues.
• Excellent drafting, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide clear and practical advice.
• Strong client care skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues.
• A commercial and solutions-focused mindset, with an understanding of clients' wider business needs.
• A proactive approach, with the ability to manage a varied workload and take ownership of matters.
• A strong team player who enjoys working collaboratively and contributing to the success of the wider team.
