Presales Solutions Architect - #2189446
Maxwell Bond
Pre-Sales Solution Architect – Cybersecurity
Location: Glasgow / Newcastle (Hybrid – 3 days per week)
Salary: Up to £60,000 basic (flexibility for exceptional candidates)
Industry: Cybersecurity / Managed Security Services
Type: Permanent
The Opportunity
We're working with an established cybersecurity services provider that's looking to appoint two Pre-Sales Solution Architects as part of its continued growth.
This is a technically focused, consultative role where you'll work closely with customers to understand their security challenges, diagnose requirements and design appropriate cybersecurity solutions.
Unlike traditional vendor Presales positions, this isn't about delivering product demonstrations or hitting individual sales targets. You'll be acting as a trusted technical adviser across a broad portfolio of managed security services, penetration testing and GRC consultancy.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading technical discovery conversations to understand customer challenges and security requirements.
- Architecting and scoping cybersecurity solutions across managed security services, SOC/MDR, penetration testing and GRC.
- Producing detailed technical responses to RFPs, tenders and customer proposals.
- Supporting Account Managers with customer meetings, account planning and technical guidance.
- Working alongside technical delivery specialists to develop solutions aligned with customer requirements.
- Advising customers on appropriate security services and helping translate complex technical requirements into practical solutions.
What We're Looking For
- Experience within cybersecurity managed services, security consultancy, Presales or solution architecture.
- Good technical understanding of cybersecurity services, ideally including SOC, MDR, SIEM, penetration testing or GRC.
- Experience scoping, designing or advising on technical cybersecurity solutions.
- Proven experience writing technical RFP or tender responses.
- A consultative approach, with the ability to identify customer challenges and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Confident communication skills, working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Previous MSSP experience would be particularly relevant, although candidates with a background in penetration testing, GRC or wider cybersecurity consultancy will also be considered.
You don't need to be an expert across every security discipline, provided you have the technical foundation to develop across the wider portfolio.
What's on Offer?
- Up to £60,000 basic salary, with flexibility for exceptional candidates.
- No individual sales targets or commission structure.
- Exposure to a broad portfolio of cybersecurity services and technologies.
- Opportunity to work closely with experienced cybersecurity specialists.
- A consultative role with a focus on technical problem-solving and solution design.
- Hybrid working from Glasgow or Newcastle, with some flexibility on location for exceptional candidates.
Interested?
If you're currently working in cybersecurity Presales, solution architecture or technical consultancy and would like to explore a more consultative, services-focused opportunity, we'd be keen to hear from you.
