We are currently looking to hire a strong Operations Shift Team Lead for one of my key clients based in the Glasgow area who specialise in the power generation field.

Client Details

Our client have a global presence and are widely known for their expertise in waste management, power generation and sustainability practices.


The Shift Team Leader will supervise and provide direction to the shift team at the clients power generation site. You will plan, implement and monitor systems and processes through good practice to maximise the process and ensuring health, safety and environmental compliance on a 24-hour shift system.

The Shift Team Leader will be the Senior Authorised Person (SAP) complying with the Safe System of Work. The role includes the supervision of contractors when carrying out activities on site.

  • Supervising the shift teams ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of the plant, prioritising workloads to ensure maximum process efficiency in line with KPIs
  • Developing shift team members through undertaking personal development and performance appraisal meetings and action plans
  • Ensure that all activities within the plant are carried out in a safe manner in line with policies ensuring that all Health, Safety and Environmental statutory requirements are met.
  • Manage the Safe System of Work as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP)
  • Working with the management team striving for continual improvement in minimising Health, safety and environmental impacts at the plant.
  • Ensuring all Operations Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks are completed when due and recorded on CMMS.


  • Looking ideally for an experience shift operations manager that has come from a power generation sector.
  • Good understand of environmental health & safety within a process or power industry.
  • Process or Power Plant/Power Generation experience is ideal
  • Experience in safe systems of work, issuing Permits To Work / safety documentation and systems.
  • Experience with co-ordinating and supervising work activities including shift personnel and contractors.
  • Engineering qualifications, preferably ONC / HNC (or equivalent).
  • Safety qualification, preferably IOSH or NEBOSH would be beneficial.

Job Offer

Salary up to 50k + shift allowance

Shifts are a 5 shift rotation (days and nights)
