AWE is currently recruiting for a Senior Safety Assessment Specialist to provide specialist subject matter expertise in the assessment of nuclear, explosive and other major hazards associated with product



Location – RNAD Coulport Near Helensburgh



Package – £42,650 - £67,400 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

Key Accountabilities:


  • Manage the technical input to the planning and production of design safety assessments and design activities

  • Take ownership and deliver safety assessments and documentation according to company standards

  • Provide technical information to support the production of company policy, guidance and strategy to agreed delivery standards

  • Provide technical advice for the design and/or delivery of technical training




Key Responsibilities:



  • Delivery of Safety documentation and design safety activities as directed by task/line management

  • Produce the design safety assessments and documentation as per AWE’s and MoD’s standards

  • Promote relevant good practice within project delivery

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of Safety Assessment processes

  • Coaching graduates, early career and Safety Assessors in Safety Assessment approaches and techniques

  • Maintaining and promoting high standards

  • To present and/or attend conferences on behalf of AWE in line with work requirements

  • To assist in verifying and checking safety documentation

  • The Company may require you to fulfil any other reasonable duties aligned to your position from time to time in line with business needs
