WGM Engineering have a current requirement for a Finance Manager to join our busy finance team on a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave, the role will be based in Glasgow on a hybrid working model. The overall purpose of the role is to ensure robust financial controls and reconciliations are in place to ensure the financial reports of the company meet generally accepted accounting standards. You will provide timely and accurate financial reports to the senior management to allow good business decisions to be made, this position will Report directly to the Finance Director.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations including daily bank reconciliations
- Finance management responsibility for all company support function cost centres
- Perform cash flow forecasting for the business
- Fixed asset accounting through the asset life-cycle, including leading from the initial business case through to approval and ultimately to disposal
- Monthly standard journals including prepayments and accruals
- Ensure integrity of the company Management Accounts by maintaining accurate coding and reporting structures
- Responds to financial enquiries by gathering, analysing and interpreting data
- Complete Government statistical returns as required
- Undertake internal audit and compliance tasks as required by the Finance Director
- Prepare the annual budget and monthly reforecast of the support function cost centres & present to Finance Director
- You will oversee the transactional support function.
To be considered for this position you will ideally be a qualified accountant or have relevant accountancy experience at a managerial level. The ideal candidate will be a Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills, previous line management experience is essential for the position.
