Job DescriptionThe post of Solicitor will support the delivery of the Licensing function administered by the Council by providing legal advice and guidance to the Council and the Council Family, with a particular focus on licensing and regulatory matters. The post holder will be responsible for providing legal advice at Council committee meetings, including the Licensing and Regulatory Committee, and to act as an Assistant Clerk to the Licensing Board. The post holder will also provide business information and support to internal and external customers in compliance with statutory/procedural requirements, including liaising with Elected Members, Community Councils, applicants and other stakeholders. Applicants should have a current practising certificate and the ability to deliver advice and guidance in a professional and polite manner while providing a high quality service to our Elected Members, customers and stakeholders in a demanding environment. Hybrid working is available in this role.
