Scope Of The Role

We are looking for a Mechanical Estimator to join our Preconstruction & Estimation team either in our Dublin or Glasgow office. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter with the initiative and skills to manage workload to meet necessary deadlines. Excellent time management, prioritising, and communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities Of The Role

  • As part of an established team of Mechanical & Electrical professionals the successful candidate will be involved in the production of competitive tenders / detailed estimates for pre-design or D&B projects
  • Advising managers of bid prospects
  • Attending pre & post tender interviews.
  • Complying with specialist sub-contract quotes
  • Ensuring sub-contractor quotes comply with specification.
  • Completing take-offs from tender drawings
  • Report regularly to management on competitor activity, market trends, and any other market dynamics that may be useful to management.

Essential Criteria For The Role

  • A Third Level Qualification in Quantity Surveying and/or Mechanical Engineering
  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Understand methods of measurement and the concept of cost/valuation reconciliations
  • Excellent IT skills in relevant estimating packages
  • Good working knowledge of Mechanical work packages
  • Strong analytical ability

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in Data Centre industry is an advantage not essential
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and within a strict deadline environment.
  • A construction background.
