Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Cambuslang, is currently looking to recruit a Graphic Designer for an initial 3 month contract on a rate of £18.76 - £19.70/hour PAYE. This role will be a hybrid role with 2 days in the office per week.


Responsibilities:


- To assist in the production of corporate reports, training, exhibition material, advertisements and other corporate material.


- To advise on corporate image, design style and cost-effective creative solutions that meet the needs of the organisation


- To liaise closely with other areas of the organisation on matters relating to video/photographic requirements and exhibitions, seminars or corporate functions where creative graphic input is requested or required.


- To assist in setting up such venues for the organisation, as and when required.


- To liaise with external print companies and other product suppliers.


- To work to agreed deadlines and ensure that individuals are kept informed of progress, where the need arises.


- To maintain adequate job records and filing systems.


- To maintain a level of stock materials as appropriate and according to financial procedures and budget levels.


- To comply with all relevant legislative requirements.


- To comply with all relevant policies and procedures.


Essential Skills:


- A relevant qualification such as minimum HNC in graphic design or equivalent experience


- Excellent IT skills, especially with design and photo-editing software


- Familiarity with design software and technologies (Adobe Create Cloud, Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)


- A strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics


- Excellent communication skills


- Accuracy and attention to detail


- Exceptional creativity and innovation with passion and enthusiasm for design


- Good communication skills in presenting complex issues, especially for non-specialist staff


- Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines


- Ability to work under own initiative with periodic guidance and support.


- Ability to work flexibly as part of a team of staff to achieve common departmental goals.


Desirable Skills:


- Experience of developing animation for marketing campaigns


- Project Management experience.
