THE ROLE


Restructuring and Recovery Manager/Senior Manager - Glasgow


As a Manager/Senior Manager in the Restructuring team, you will play a key leadership role in managing complex restructuring and insolvency cases. You will work closely with a range of stakeholders, providing strategic advice and technical expertise. You will also support the wider team in delivering high-quality service, developing new business opportunities, and contributing to the overall success of the department and firm.


Purpose of the role/key responsibilities:



  • Lead the administration of complex restructuring cases, supporting licensed insolvency practitioners in the execution of appointments and strategies to maximise recoveries.

  • Deliver high-quality advice to company directors, shareholders, creditors, and debtors across a broad spectrum of restructuring and insolvency scenarios, with support from the wider team.

  • Prepare proposal documents for final review

  • Maintain and develop comprehensive technical knowledge of restructuring advisory work, procedures and processes

  • Perform detailed work as may be required, particularly work of an advanced technical nature, and produce detailed advice and recommendations, with due regard to risk

  • Produce and present high quality reports, presentations and analysis for meetings and external distribution

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge and experience of administering restructuring cases

  • Undertaking research of new legislation, identifying opportunities for new cases

  • Be a vital part of the management team, involved with the day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring financial and utilisation targets and deadlines are met and assist with delivering the strategic objectives of the department and wider firm

  • Deliver training and presentations internally and externally

  • Attending networking and business development events, supporting business development initiatives and identifying new case opportunities.



Experience and skill set required for the role:



  • Previous experience of case administration and working in a Restructuring/ Insolvency team, across all case types, managing a varied portfolio of cases

  • Being CPI qualified is advantageous but not required

  • Being JIE qualified for management role advantageous but not required

  • Appetite to maintain technical knowledge and keep abreast of changes within the insolvency legal and regulatory framework

  • Full clean driving licence

  • Willingness to travel across UK and overseas if required

  • Flexible and able to respond to fast changing situations

  • Experience of networking and business development

  • Confident, outgoing and able to communicate at all levels

  • Ability to work well in a team and alone

  • Comfortable in a client-facing environment and interviewing directors/debtors

  • Effectively prioritise workload and adhere to statutory timeframes

  • Experienced user of Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel & PowerPoint - knowledge and experience of IPS case management system / IPS Cloud is also desirable
