Job Overview


Jensen Hughes is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis, reporting directly to the Global Payroll Director. This role is critical in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees in the UK and Ireland. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of payroll legislation in both countries and experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This is a part time, remote position that can be based anywhere in UK&I. 


Responsibilities



  • Process monthly payroll for employees in the UK and Ireland, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements, for multiple entities

  • Liaise with external payroll providers, ensuring correct data submission and reconciliation

  • Review and validate payroll reports, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues in a timely manner

  • Calculate statutory payments and ensure compliance with PAYE and NIC regulations

  • Collaborate directly with the US payroll team to maintain employee records, including salary changes, benefits, bonuses, and terminations

  • Respond to payroll-related queries from employees and internal stakeholders

  • Prepare payroll journals and coordinate with the finance team on monthly payroll reconciliations

  • Assist with year-end payroll processes for reporting


Requirements and Qualifications



  • Proven experience in UK and Ireland payroll processing (minimum 3 years preferred), including statutory leave processing

  • Strong understanding of HMRC and Irish Revenue requirements

  • Experience working with third-party payroll providers

  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills

  • Familiarity with benefits administration, pensions, and employment tax

  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint (time and expense accounting system) is highly preferred
