Shepherd and Wedderburn are currently recruiting for a Business Development Executive to join their Marketing and Business Development (MBD) team based at either our Glasgow or Edinburgh office. The sucessful candidate will provide both strategic and practical BD support to the firm’s Clean Energy sector group in conjunction with the Snr BD Manager – Clean Energy.
The role
- Support in the planning and execution of comprehensive business development and marketing initiatives across various channels including supporting upon development and execution of the firm’s Clean Energy sector plan.
- Conduct market research to identify trends and growth opportunities.
- Work with partners and lawyers in the sector group to enhance the firm’s market reputation including strategic promotion of our work and offering.
- Support ,and where appropriate lead, on responses to formal RFPs and other work winning proposals.
- Assist with the development of business development/marketing materials including lawyer bios, credentials, practice/sector overviews and website content.
- Collate information for preparation of client newsletters and other client specific materials.
- Develop and manage engaging content for newsletters, social media, email marketing, and our website.
- Coordinate and support the planning and delivery of high-impact events (client facing and internal).
- Assist with maintaining our CRM system providing insightful analysis on campaign performance.
- Proactively seek to build relationships with lawyers and other colleagues as required to execute BD activities and plans.
- Serve as a member of the wider Marketing and Business Development Team and proactively contribute to team initiatives and projects.
- Undertake any other reasonable assistance duties as requested.
Candidate Profile
- Proactive and highly motivated self-starter.
- Educated to degree level.
- At least two years’ experience in a BD/Marketing role.
- Excellent competency and skills using MS office packages.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Understanding and experience of CRM systems.
- Excellent attention to detail.
