Job Title: Finance Manager / Financial Controller Location: Glasgow (Hybrid – mix of office and home working) Hours: Part-time, Monday–Friday (9am–1pm or flexible by agreement) Salary: Up to £40,000 Contract Type: Permanent

About The Role

We are looking for a Finance Manager / Financial Controller to take the lead on our financial operations. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working autonomously, has a sharp eye for detail, and thrives in a dynamic environment. You’ll be responsible for everything from day-to-day accounting to high-level financial strategy and reporting.

This is a key role within our organisation, working closely with leadership to guide financial decisions and ensure robust financial management.

What You’ll Be Doing

Daily Financial Operations Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable Run Payroll and Staff Expenses Process VAT returns and Bank Reconciliations Maintain accurate records and financial systems Monitor working capital and cash flow

Reporting & Analysis Prepare monthly and annual management accounts Lead budgeting and forecasting processes Provide strategic insight through financial modelling and analysis Prepare Year-End accounts and 5-year plans

Compliance & Control Ensure compliance with HMRC, Companies House, and other statutory obligations Submit PAYE, pensions, and VAT returns on time Liaise with auditors, accountants, and tax advisors

Team & Collaboration Work with operational teams to support financial understanding Support HR and payroll coordination Suggest and implement process improvements

What We’re Looking For

Essential ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or part-qualified (or QBE) Solid experience in a Finance Manager or Controller role Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards, VAT, and payroll Proficient in Excel and accounting software (ideally Xero) Excellent communication and time management skills

Desirable Experience in SMEs, charities, or public sector finance Grant or contract finance experience Familiar with external audit and reporting processes Strategic mindset with hands-on delivery
