This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a senior role with a business that's shaping Scotland's future infrastructure. With a strong focus on sustainability and innovation, this organisation supports some of the nation's most critical transport and civil engineering projects.

You'll be part of a collaborative team known for delivering high-value, complex infrastructure solutions across trunk roads, bridges, and transport networks, all while prioritising safety, environmental impact, and long-term performance.

About the Role

The business is recruiting for a Lead Senior Civil Engineer to join their dynamic structures team. With offices and design hubs across Scotland, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Perth and more, you'll be well-placed to contribute to projects that matter.

In this leadership role, you'll drive the delivery of technically sound civil engineering solutions, mentor junior team members, and play a hands-on part in some of the country's most significant road and infrastructure schemes.

You'll be contributing to major, multi-year contracts across Scotland's road network, as well as supporting civil design projects for Transport Scotland, local authorities, and industry partners.

Key Focus Areas

  • Lead the development and delivery of engineering designs in line with technical standards and project specifications
  • Support the preparation of high-quality documentation, calculations, and drawings
  • Provide day-to-day mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced engineers
  • Manage financial aspects of your projects, including cost control and resourcing
  • Engage directly with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and clear communication
  • Contribute to tendering, bid submissions, and business development activities
  • Promote health and safety excellence in all aspects of design and project work

What Youll Need

  • Proven experience in civil or structural engineering, ideally in a leadership or senior technical role
  • Excellent technical design skills and the ability to work independently or guide a team
  • Experience managing health and safety responsibilities within the built environment
  • Comfortable being the go-to engineering contact on medium to large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Strong working knowledge of CDM regulations and risk management
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software for design and analysis
  • Chartered or Incorporated status (or actively working toward it) is a strong advantage

Whats in it for You?

  • A structured career path with dedicated mentoring and professional development support
  • Flexible working options including hybrid, part-time, and location-flexible patterns
  • Opportunities to work on long-term, high-profile infrastructure contracts
  • Recognition for your achievements and support toward professional qualifications
  • A culture that values wellbeing, inclusion, and a strong work-life balance
  • If you're ready to make a real impact on Scotland's infrastructure and work with a forward-thinking, values-driven business, this could be your next big step.
