Overview
The Accounting Project and Integration Manager is a newly created position within the team, driven by the pipeline of acquisitions. You will conduct due diligence, establishing rapport with the new acquisitions, and supervising the integration of client money and new systems. Your expertise will ensure detailed transitions and successful integrations, contributing to the growth and success of our organisation. As a senior member of the team, you will also be expected to assist with other tasks within the wider team as needed.
Additionally, you will collaborate with other business functions to identify robust solutions for remediating any rule breaches raised by auditors or business partners. Working with these functions to implement process and control improvements, as well as providing audit evidence for the CASS audits of acquisitions, will be an ongoing aspect of the role.
How you'll make an impact
- Preparation of Client Money Due Diligence report to submit for review to Head of Accounting Integration & Projects & Chief Accounting Officer
- Preparing agendas for calls with Vendor to acquire understanding of existing function and processes
- Evaluation of dataroom to acquire relevant information and identify gaps in information provided
- Conduct a gap analysis of the acquired firm’s client money controls Conduct reviews to ensure all balances are adequately supported
- Raise any issues discovered through the DD period Attend and present at weekly DD project calls regarding status of report and any issues noted
- Review documents circulated by other project workstreams (e.g. Legal) to ensure no risks to Accounting workstream and feedback as necessary
- Work with the wider client money team and newly acquired finance team to ensure the client money processes are passed across effectively
- Work with the runoff team and the newly acquired finance team to ensure the balances are ran down in a timely manner and in compliance with CASS rules
- Update the Senior Client Money Manager on the status of the Project Plans on a weekly basis so issues can be escalated in a timely manner
- Lead the CASS audits for the acquired company
- Assist with any ad hoc queries Be a subject matter authority within the team, taking care of complex issues and delivering solutions Ensure we have complete and accurate records of the calculations processed to ensure compliance with local regulations.
- Keep up to date with business changes that will impact the calculations by liaising with internal teams.
- Liaise with Internal and External Audit teams.
- Establish effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Actively support the development and maintenance of robust systems for Client Money control within Finance. Support Client Money team in the automation of processes as part of continuous improvement projects within the team.
- Maintain awareness of responsibilities under FCA and ensure all business is conducted in accordance with these requirements.
- Point of contact for the business for client money related queries.
- Be involved with ad-hoc projects
About You
- An ACCA/CA/CIMA qualified accountant
- Strong technical accounting skills are needed
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Experience working in Financial Services management insurance would be especially useful
- Flexible, happy to deal with multiple tasks and environments within our international organisation
- Highly organised and dedicated with excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills in all formats.
- Happy to work independently and also perform as part of an effective team
- With superb focus, always seeking opportunities to challenge yourself and others around you
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Takes initiative has a ‘can do’ approach
