NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for these posts is Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and the salary is pro rata for part time hours.
Two permanent Band 7 vacancies (37 and 22.2 hours) for either CBT Therapists or CAAPs have arisen in the board-wide Psychological Therapies Groups Service. This service delivers evidence-based, psychological therapy group programmes to individuals who are receiving a service from secondary care adult mental health teams across NHS GG&C (Community Mental Health Teams). The service is currently exclusively delivered using video consultation. You’ll work within a team of highly motivated Clinical Psychologists, psychological therapists, assistant psychologists and admin staff, to deliver psychological therapies group programmes, contribute to the ongoing development and evaluation of the service, and provide supervised placements to trainees undertaking the Masters in Psychological Therapy in Primary Care, the post-graduate Diploma in CBT, and EPP-A learners. You’ll be line managed by the Consultant Clinical Psychologist/Team Lead and be supervised by a Clinical Psychologist. You’ll be either a Psychology graduate with the postgraduate Masters degree which confers eligibility to work as a CAAP in NHS Scotland, or a registered professional (such as a Nurse, OT or Social Worker) with the postgraduate diploma in CBT from a BABCP accredited course. You’ll have experience in adult mental health gained via training and, ideally, post-qualification. Newly qualified candidates, or those approaching completion of their training as outlined above, are welcome to apply
