Desktop Support / IT Engineer - Laptop repair and refurbishment - #1786744

12 month fixed term contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Reloading client O/S (Rebuild)
• Hardware troubleshooting
• Hardware repairs (out of warranty using stock parts)
• Hardware repairs (in warranty – Lenovo): Lenovo warranty training and certification will be provided.
• Dismantling beyond economical repair devices to be used for donor parts.
• Cleaning devices to a high standard ready to be put back into circulation.
  
  

Other beneficial skills:

• Understanding on Service Now – Employee will not be responsible for their own queue however access to service now will be given to check the service history of devices that are coming in due to a fault.
• Understanding on Active Directory – Employee will not be responsible for maintaining AD, but there is possibilities employee will be responsible for changing the AD group of devices that come in due to deactivation.
• Understanding on Asset / software transfer tool.
• Good excel skills for basic reporting.
• Basic understanding on AMDB / CMDB
• Majority of time the role will not be user / client facing, but there will be times where the engineer will need to attend meetings / phone meetings where the client might be present. Communication skills will be an important part of this role.
• Understanding on stock management (for parts).
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
