A global leader in secure connectivity solutions for embedded applications is expanding its team. The company is at the forefront of automotive and industrial innovation, and is currently seeking an Embedded Systems Security Engineer to help shape the future of secure SoC architecture.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between cutting-edge security mechanisms and functional hardware/firmware requirements, ensuring next-generation products are resilient against emerging threats.

The Role

  • Drive Security Architecture: Define, link, and integrate innovative security mechanisms into hardware and firmware, balancing power, area, and performance constraints.
  • Vulnerability & Risk Analysis: Coordinate and conduct both pre-silicon and post-silicon vulnerability analyses (VA) and risk assessments.
  • Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis: Investigate the root cause of security defects and work collaboratively to innovate solutions to complex security issues.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interface directly with development teams, evaluation labs, and customers, whilst providing security training and advice across design, implementation, and verification phases.
  • Industry Alignment: Stay ahead of industry trends, best practices, and developments within the SoC/IC security landscape.

Your Profile

  • Education: A BSEE, MSEE, or PhD in Security Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of SoC/IC architectures for embedded devices, including hardware description languages (SystemVerilog, VHDL), synthesis, schematics, and layout.
  • Hardware/Software Integration: A deep understanding of embedded firmware/software and how it interacts seamlessly with hardware.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to educate colleagues, share knowledge, and deliver results within a team environment.

Desirable Attributes

  • A strong background in cryptography, Fault Injection, and Side-Channel Attacks.
  • Hands-on experience designing secure system architectures or security-related IP.
  • Familiarity with international security standards (ISO21434, IEC62443) and certification schemes (Common Criteria, SESIP, FIPS, OSCCA).
