The OpportunityAn exciting opportunity has arisen to join a leading global banking organisation on an initial 12-month contract within a high-profile Finance function undergoing significant transformation.
This role sits within a centralised Finance Governance and Control team responsible for supporting operational governance, oversight, regulatory compliance and process improvement activities across a complex international environment.
With increasing regulatory scrutiny and a growing focus on operational resilience, outsourcing governance and control effectiveness, the business is investing heavily in process optimisation, automation and AI-enabled solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening processes, enhancing governance frameworks, reducing manual effort and improving the overall control environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Finance Change, Process Improvement or Controls professional who enjoys working across transformation initiatives while maintaining a strong focus on governance, risk and operational controls.
Key Responsibilities- Review operational processes to identify inefficiencies, strengthen controls and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather requirements and identify opportunities to enhance governance, oversight and operational effectiveness.
- Translate manual and SME-dependent activities into structured, scalable and well-controlled processes.
- Drive the standardisation, simplification and automation of operational activities to improve efficiency and reduce operational risk.
- Support the ongoing enhancement of governance frameworks, process controls and documentation standards.
- Utilise tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, UiPath, Copilot, Python or similar technologies to improve reporting, workflow management and process automation.
- Support the design, testing and implementation of transformation and process improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate delivery across multiple workstreams, ensuring key milestones and deadlines are achieved.
- Produce and maintain process maps, governance materials, control documentation, training guides and operating procedures.
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder meetings to support change adoption and embed improved processes and controls.
- Track and report on the impact of initiatives, including control enhancements, effort reduction, operational efficiency and governance improvements.
- Support the ongoing development of a robust and sustainable controls framework across the function.
- Experience within Finance Transformation, Business Change, Process Improvement, Controls, Governance or Operational Excellence environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement practical solutions.
- Experience enhancing controls, governance processes and operational frameworks.
- Experience working with tools such as:
- Power BI
- Alteryx
- UiPath
- Power Platform
- Python
- Copilot or similar automation technologies
- Strong process mapping, documentation and procedural writing skills.
- Understanding of data quality, controls frameworks, governance principles and operational risk.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver effectively within a fast-paced environment.
