Are you an Optometrist who wants your clinical skills to make a genuine difference to patients’ everyday lives?
Insightful Recruitment is working with a progressive domiciliary eye care provider that delivers high-quality eye examinations predominantly in care homes.
This is not a high-pressure, transactional domiciliary role. The focus is on providing thorough, ethical, and compassionate eye care to patients who may be living with dementia or other complex needs.
The RoleYou will work alongside a highly trained Optical Assistant who manages the clinic, supports the patient journey and completes appropriate delegated tasks. This allows you to concentrate on delivering excellent clinical care.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing thorough eye examinations within care-home environments
Completing refraction
Identifying changes in vision and recommending appropriate eyewear
Recognising pathology and making suitable referrals
Supporting patients who may be anxious or have communication difficulties
Maintaining accurate records through a fully paperless system
Working collaboratively with your Optical Assistant and the wider clinical team
Delivering commercially sustainable clinics without compromising patient care
You will have access to high-quality portable equipment, including an autorefractor, slit lamp, iCare tonometer and digital test charts.
Clinics generally operate between approximately 9:30am and 4:30pm, with travel required before and after. Optometrists can meet their Optical Assistant or travel directly to the venue where practical.
