Structural Engineer

First People Solutions is currently working with a multidisciplinary consulting engineer that is looking to strengthen its team with an experienced Structural Engineer.
This is a great opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of major infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on power and energy, including substations, grid infrastructure and renewable energy projects. There's also the opportunity to work across sectors including industrial, defence and transportation.
The Role
You'll be involved in the design and delivery of structural elements across a range of technically challenging projects, working closely with other disciplines to develop safe, efficient and sustainable solutions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and specifying structural elements across a variety of projects
- Producing structural drawings, specifications, calculations and technical reports
- Working closely with multidisciplinary teams throughout the design process
- Reviewing calculations, technical drawings and supplier submissions
- Ensuring designs meet relevant industry standards, quality requirements and project specifications
- Providing guidance and support to more junior engineers and contributing to the wider technical development of the team
What Are They Looking For?
- A degree in Structural Engineering, or equivalent
- 3+ years of structural engineering and design experience within a UK design engineering environment
- Experience with structural analysis software such as MasterSeries, STAAD or Tedds
- Good knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards and CDM regulations
- Be working towards Chartered status
- The ability to obtain security clearance, where required for certain projects
