Senior Electrical Services Engineer - Scotland | Home-Based

I'm currently recruiting on behalf of an established M&E consultancy for an experienced Senior Electrical Services Engineer to join their team, working predominantly from home and supporting projects across Scotland.

You must be based in or around Glasgow or Edinburgh, as there will be a requirement to travel to the company's Newcastle office from time to time for meetings and team collaboration.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced electrical building services engineer who enjoys variety, technical responsibility and working closely with clients and project teams.

The role will primarily involve supporting major clients operating within the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Justice sectors, with projects typically running across one to several months. The work is varied, meaning you'll have the opportunity to work across a broad range of electrical design projects rather than being tied to one long-term scheme.

The Role
You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical building services and power distribution design, including:

• Electrical calculations and analysis
• Schematics, drawings, diagrams and models
• Specifications and associated technical documentation
• Working closely with clients, contractors, project teams and other stakeholders
• Providing technical input at project and client meetings
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
• Applying relevant legislation, standards, regulations and industry best practice

What I'm Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:

• A degree or recognised academic qualification in an electrical engineering discipline, although candidates who have progressed through the practical side of the industry with recognised academic qualifications will also be considered
• Strong experience within electrical building services design
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• The ability to contribute confidently to technical and client meetings
• A strong understanding of relevant legislation, standards, regulations and industry guidance

You should have good knowledge of:

• LV Distribution Systems
• Lighting & Emergency Lighting
• Small Power
• Fire Alarm & Detection
• Security Systems
• IT & Communications
• Lightning Protection
• Standby Power Supplies
• Earthing

Experience with HV Distribution Systems would also be beneficial.
Software Experience

Experience with some or all of the following would be advantageous:

• Amtech
• Hevacomp
• AutoCAD
• NBS Specification Writing
• Microsoft Word & Excel
