A well-established and growing accountancy practice based in the South Side of Glasgow, are seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join its team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional looking to develop their career within a supportive practice environment, working with a varied portfolio of clients across multiple sectors.
The Role
As Payroll Administrator, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely payroll services to a diverse client base. You will be responsible for managing payroll processes whilst ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and maintaining excellent client relationships.
Duties will include:
- Processing weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls
- Calculating salaries, overtime, bonuses, commissions and statutory payments
- Managing pension contributions and auto-enrolment requirements
- Submitting RTI information to HMRC
- Processing new starters, leavers and payroll amendments
- Handling SSP, SMP, SPP and other statutory payments
- Producing payroll reports and reconciliations
- Responding to client payroll queries in a professional and timely manner
- Ensuring payroll records are accurate and maintained in line with current legislation
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous payroll experience, ideally within an accountancy practice or bureau environment
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
- Experience using payroll software packages
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Good communication and client-facing abilities
- A proactive and professional approach to work
- The ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
Payroll qualifications are advantageous but not essential for candidates with relevant experience.
