Help Shape the UK's Energy Future

Metrica are a specialist consultancy providing robust and commercially focused technical advice, primarily to the renewable energy sector. We support many of the UK's most high-profile wind, solar and energy storage developments, working with developers, planners, construction staff and operational teams to help deliver the next generation of renewable energy infrastructure.

As our project portfolio continues to grow, we are keen to hear from experienced consultants who can work alongside our highly experienced team.

The Role:

Depending on your experience, responsibilities will include:

  • Wind farm noise monitoring and assessment;
  • Solar, BESS and substation noise modelling and assessment;
  • Construction noise and vibration monitoring and management plans;
  • Surveys and fieldwork across the UK, with potential international opportunities;
  • Liaising with developers, technical teams, Local Authorities and other public bodies;
  • Providing technical advice and support throughout a development’s planning, consenting, construction and operational phases;
  • Preparing clear, concise and robust technical reports and EIA-R / ES chapters;
  • Managing and / or supporting projects ranging from TCPA schemes through to nationally significant infrastructure projects;
  • Supporting company growth through client relationship management and business development
  • Mentoring junior team members (Senior and Principal-level candidates).

For candidates interested in broadening their experience, there will be substantial and immediate opportunities to work across other technical disciplines including shadow flicker, glint & glare and telecommunications assessments. We would also welcome experience in other related disciplines.

About You

We're interested in hearing from consultants who enjoy working on complex challenges whilst presenting technical matters in a clear, accessible way, and wish to play a key role in the continued growth of a leading specialist renewable energy consultancy.

You'll ideally have:

  • At least 2 years' relevant consultancy experience;
  • A degree in Acoustics or a related discipline;
  • Membership of the Institute of Acoustics;
  •  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  •  The ability to prepare high-quality, focused technical reports;
  •  Experience of TCPA, EIA, s36 and DCO assessment processes;
  •  A proactive and pragmatic approach to project delivery; and
  •  A full UK driving licence.

Experience in renewable energy, particularly wind farms and solar developments, would be highly advantageous.

Why Metrica?

At Metrica, you'll be joining a growing consultancy where individuals have the opportunity to make a genuine impact. Unlike larger consultancies, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with Directors and clients, take ownership of projects, and help shape the future direction of the business.

We offer:

  • The opportunity to work on some of the most high-profile energy projects in the UK and internationally;
  •  A supportive, collaborative and highly experienced team;
  •  Flexible and hybrid working arrangements;
  •  Substantial opportunities for professional development and career progression;
  •  Exposure to a broad range of technical disciplines;
  •  Competitive salary and benefits package;
  •  A generous bonus / profit-share scheme; and
  •  A culture that truly values technical excellence, pragmatism and work-life balance.
